Rachel discusses infertility, pregnancy loss & finding her family through foster adopt

I was honored to be on Chelsea Myers podcast Quiet Connection recently. On her show, Chelsea covers subject matter such as postpartum mental health, traumatic birth, infertility, pregnancy/infant/child loss, and more with such care and dignity. I really enjoyed our conversation, opening up about my own infertility journey, that eventually led to foster care.

You can listen to the full episode here.

Here's a little taste of what we cover from the show notes:

What happens when a natural-born hustler meets a medical wall that hard work simply cannot climb? 💔🕒

Rachel spent decades navigating the high-energy creative worlds of Manhattan and Los Angeles as an actor, performer, and audiobook narrator. She was a master at setting her mind to a goal and willing it into reality. But as she approached her 40th birthday and turned her focus toward building a family, she was hit with a frustrating, heavy diagnosis: unexplained infertility.

What followed was a grueling, multi-year journey through:
-The isolating trauma of a silent ultrasound room.
-A life-threatening heterotopic pregnancy emergency.
-The compounding financial weight of high-interest IVF debt.

But this isn’t just a story about reproductive grief. It is a breathtaking masterclass in what happens when we shift our energy from trying to control our lives to completely allowing them to unfold.

If you're having or have had any issues with any of these topics I highly recommend checking out Chelsea's podcast, in general - not just my episode. She's putting such great work into the world.
